Privacy Policy

Last updated:

This policy covers cpstest.app and the CPS Test apps for iOS, Android and Chrome, all made by arealme. It describes what we collect, why, and how to have it deleted.

When you take a test

The test runs in your browser. Your personal records, your local leaderboard names, your CPS Challenge progress as a guest, and your theme and sound settings are kept in your browser's local storage. They are not sent to us.

When a test finishes, the page sends us an anonymous summary: the test length and mode, the number of clicks, your CPS and peak CPS, the type of device (desktop, phone or tablet), the browser family, the page language and the country that Cloudflare infers from your connection. To limit abuse we also store a one-way hash of your IP address mixed with a value that changes every day, so it cannot be used to recognise you on another day. These summaries keep the averages on the test pages and the statistics up to date.

When you sign in with Google

Google sends us your account ID, name, profile picture and email address. We never see your password.

  • Your name and picture are the starting point of your public profile. You can choose another nickname at any time; the picture is always your Google account photo. Other players see either only after a reviewer has approved it, and until then you appear as "Player" followed by four characters. We keep a copy of the picture that was reviewed, so that what a leaderboard shows is what was approved.
  • Before a reviewer looks at a profile, a model run by Cloudflare (Workers AI) reads the nickname and the picture and scores them for religious, political, sexual and violent content. The scores only sort the reviewer's list. A person makes every decision.
  • If you choose a country in your profile, it is stored with your account. Your verified runs then count for it in the Country Cup, where it is shown next to your nickname.
  • Your email address is used to sign you in to the comments under each test, which run on arealme's comment service, and to reach you about your account if we have to. We do not send newsletters and do not share it.
  • We set one cookie, cps_session, which keeps you signed in for 90 days. Signing out deletes it.

Leaderboards and the CPS Challenge

When you compete on the leaderboards (the Compete switch), we store the score, the number of clicks, your peak speed, the test length, the device type, your browser's user agent, your country code, and two numbers that summarise the timing of your clicks (the shortest gap and how regular the gaps were), which we use to spot auto clickers. Scores of 20 CPS or more are held until we have seen a video. The live leaderboard shows the best of the last 100 verified runs with the player's nickname and picture, and only for players whose profile we have reviewed; the weekly leaderboard and the Country Cup show other players as "Player" followed by four characters until then.

For your progress page we keep one line per day and test length for your verified runs: how many there were, their clicks, their average and the best. Only you can open it.

When you play the CPS Challenge signed in, we store your progress (levels cleared, stars, coins and upgrades) and, for each fight, the level, the result and the number of clicks. The click-by-click record your browser sends is used to replay and check the fight; we keep only the outcome.

World record applications

When you apply for a world record, we store the test and its length, your clicks and CPS, your device, hands and technique, the mouse or device model you name, the link to your video, the name and country you want shown, your note, and whether the click log of the run passed our checks (the log itself is not kept). A reviewer watches the video. If the record is approved, the name, country flag, score, setup, mouse or device model and video link are shown on the test page.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits, see which pages and tests are used, and how long visits last. It sets cookies named _ga and _ga_… that last up to two years, and it reports the pages you open, the tests you finish (length, mode, clicks and CPS), CPS Challenge fights (level and result), whether you are signed in, and when you share a result, sign in, apply for a record or choose a country, along with your type of device and your approximate location. It is not told who you are: no name, email address or account ID is sent to it. Google Analytics does not store IP addresses. Google signals and ad personalization are switched off, and nothing is used for advertising. Google processes this data for us under its data processing terms, and we keep it for 14 months.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked first, and nothing loads until they accept. Everywhere else analytics is on by default. Anyone can switch it off, or back on, under Privacy choices at the bottom of every page, and we treat a Global Privacy Control signal as a no.

Comments

The discussion section on each test is provided by arealme's comment service (comment.arealme.net). What you post there is public, and that service's own sign-in and cookies apply.

Other services

Cloudflare hosts the site, handles every request and runs the model that reads profiles before review. Google handles sign-in and, as described above, analytics. Record videos stay on the video sites their players chose, such as YouTube, and each share button opens the network you choose. cpstest.app does not use advertising cookies.

The apps

The CPS Test apps for iOS and Android and the Chrome extension do not collect personal data. Your records stay on your device.

Your data

Email admin+cpstest@arealme.com to get a copy of what we hold about you, or to have your account, scores, progress and profile deleted. We reply within 30 days.

Changes

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes too. Earlier versions are available on request.
